Nighttime Safe Rides & Walking Escort Service

Between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., seven days a week, Yale students, faculty, and staff can call 203-432-6330 or 203-432-WALK to request a University Security safe ride within campus boundaries. A University shuttle or Security Vehicle will be dispatched to your location and will drop you to your final on-campus destination. It is advisable to request the service at least 15 minutes prior to the intended departure time and even earlier during high-demand hours such as late nights or weekends.

Students, faculty, and staff can request a Yale Security Officer as a walking escort to or from any location within a reasonable walking distance on campus, 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 203-432-WALK. Security personnel can be identified by their uniforms; they carry two-way radios and are in continuous contact with the Central Alarm Station on 4 Bristol Street.

Yale also has a Nighttime Shuttle Service that runs from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., seven nights a week. This service runs on a scheduled route around the campus and does off-route dropoffs. View more information on the Nighttime Shuttle Service and real-time GPS locator here.
