Department Information

The Yale Security Department provides integrated security services for the Yale campus, including:

Security Officer Operations.Security Officer Operations

Management and supervision of a security force assigned to fixed posts in buildings and parking facilities, as well as vehicle, foot and bicycle patrols of the Yale campus. Security officers also perform a variety of services such as providing safe escorts, bike patrols and helping with lock-outs.

Security Systems

 Administration and coordination of University Security systems (CCTV camera, access control, intercom, and alarm systems), including installation, service, and monitoring. Security systems are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by highly trained professionals in the Yale University Security Central Alarm Station.

Security Dispatch.Central Alarm Station

Provides 24 hour monitoring of the University's integrated security system; burglar, fire, duress alarms, and CCTV. Also receives requests for security services; escorts, lockouts, residential college alarms, and general information.

Cultural Properties Alarm Monitoring Station

Provides 24 hour monitoring and dispatch of the University's integrated security system; burglar, fire, duress alarms, and CCTV for all sites housing the University’s cultural property.

Transportation Dispatch

Calls for nightime door-to-door safe ride escorts are received by the Central Alarm Station. Our security officers work with the Yale Transportation Office to provide safe door-to-door rides to all members of the Yale Community in the evenings.
